St. Elizabeth's

St. Elizabeth’s, a service of Mercy Housing & Shelter in Hartford, CT, is home to 48 adults who live in single units for up to 2 years while they recover from illness, trauma or addiction. Transitional living clients receive meals, clothing, medical care, case management, job preparation and help with job placement. It also offers residents counseling and goal-setting to help them work on plans to move into permanent housing. Residents set goals in such areas as sobriety, education and training, job search and savings. Counselors meet regularly with residents to assist them and to monitor progress.

Since 1982, MUMC has visited six Sunday afternoons a year to cook a meal and serve it to the residents. Currently this program is organized and supported by our youth and their leaders.  MUMC has also donated funds for supplies, building upkeep and holiday programs.

Currently this program is supported by our youth and their leaders on a bi-monthly basis.
